Your Day Trip Itinerary
Departure from London
We’ll meet in central London at 7:45 am to board our comfortable, air-conditioned coach and set off for our first destination: Windsor Castle. As we leave the city behind, relax and enjoy the scenic views as we head west into the English countryside.
Windsor Castle: A Royal Residence
Our first stop is Windsor Castle, the world’s oldest inhabited castle and a favorite residence of the British monarchy. During your visit, you’ll have time to explore the castle’s grand halls, marvel at works of art by renowned painters like Rembrandt and Rubens, and admire the beautiful interiors. Don’t miss St. George’s Chapel, the final resting place of historical figures such as King Henry VIII. This stunning Gothic chapel continues to serve as a place of worship and royal ceremonies.
Stonehenge: An Ancient Mystery
Next, we’ll journey to the windswept Salisbury Plain, home to Stonehenge—the world’s most famous megalithic monument. Built over 5,000 years ago with stones weighing more than 40 tonnes, Stonehenge remains one of history’s greatest mysteries. Was it a religious temple, an ancient burial ground, or an astronomical observatory? As you walk around the ancient stones, you’ll have time to ponder the secrets of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Salisbury: Home to a Medieval Masterpiece
Our final stop is the historic city of Salisbury, renowned for its stunning cathedral that has stood for more than 800 years. With its towering spire reaching 123 meters into the sky, Salisbury Cathedral is one of England’s finest examples of medieval architecture. Inside, you can see the world’s oldest working clock and the best-preserved copy of the Magna Carta, a document that played a key role in the development of democracy and modern law.
Return to London
After exploring Salisbury, we’ll board the coach and begin our journey back to London, arriving around 6:30 pm. The tour concludes near Gloucester Road, just a short walk from South Kensington tube station.
